Ladies’ Championship: Janette Devlin won this with a win over Sue Rehm
Mixed Pairs: Laura Woodley and Ross Courtnage won over Ted McDonnell and Sue Rehm
Open Singles: Ross Courtnage beat Steve Barlow
Men’s Triples: Oliver Tien, Adrian Barrett and Ted McDonnell beat Paul Goddard, Paul Allcock and Graham Lyke.
Benevolent Triples: Kevin O’Connor, Paul Allcock and Ted McDonnell beat Steve Barlow, Adrian Barrett and Malvern Costelloe
Men’s Pairs: Mark Belcher and Ross Courtnage beat Oliver Tien and Derek Parsons
Men’s Novices: Andy La Fontaine won this, beating Malvern Costelloe
Men’s Two Wood: Len Hillier beat Kevin O’Connor in a very close match going to the last end.
Men’s Championship: Alistair McLean won this in a close game over Dave Bennett
Men’s Handicap: Ross Courtnage beat Graham Lyke in another close game
For the first time we have a trophy for the New Bowlers, playing in a triple.
New Bowlers' Triples: Angela Melvin, Joss Plowman and Gavin Dubery were the inaugural winners of this competition (see photo below) over Chris Smith, Shane Powell and Emma Phippard,
The Centenary Cup played on Friday afternoon saw Dave Murray win over Malvern Costelloe.

Island Ladies Win County Competition Again!
Berkshire Ladies Double Fours Competition is a home and away competition. One team plays at home and the other plays at the away club. The overall score counts as the win so one of the teams could lose their match but if overall they won that team goes forward to the next round. It was run for the first time in 2024. The Island Ladies won the first Double Fours that was held at Prospect Park. The Island beat Maidenhead Town that year.
We lost in the second round in 2025 but in 2026 we won through to the semi finals which were held at Reading Bowls Club on Sunday 9th August. In 2026 our team played the semi-final against Tilehurst. We won that game 38 to 24. We were in the final which was being played in the afternoon at 1.00pm. Helen’s team had a minor change with Mandy Harlow playing Lead instead of Norma Crowshaw. Despite being the underdogs the Island ladies beat Bracknell (last year’s winners) by 35 to 19.
